We are offering Minecraft, Python, Scratch, Roblox, MakeCode, Java, and Lego & Advanced Robotics classes for all ages & abilities. We have Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels of our classes available, plus Competition Robotics leagues! Choose your location to browse classes:

Penguin Coding teachers are so engaging in our online courses that students sometimes forget that the class is virtual! All class times are listed in Eastern USA time.

We teach Python, Scratch, Roblox, Minecraft, JavaScript, C++ and Java. We also coach a year round coding competition team for the most advanced students in each grade level.

That’s why we recommend always starting with one of our Free Trials. These classes are offered both in-person and online and are using to gauge your students experience level for accurate class placement. Request a free trial below:

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Our classes are generally divided by age and previous experience. For each specific age group recommendation please see the following:

    Kindergarten

    Grades 1-3

    Grades 4-5

    Grades 6-8

    Grades 9-12

  • If your student is new to Penguin Coding School, we recommend they start with one of our Free Trials. This will help us place students in the correct level class.

  • That’s totally up to you! Siblings can take the same class or different classes depending on their experience/interests.

  • If your child is interested in more than one of our free trial classes, please reach out to us directly at info@penguincodingschool.com

  • Classes meet once a week for an hour, either after school or on the weekend.

  • Semester Classes: We offer a full refund minus a 5% admin fee, up to 1 week before class begins.

  • For in-person classes, we provide all devices and discourage students from bringing their own computer for software compatibility reasons.

    For online classes, you’ll need a laptop or desktop computer, NOT a tablet. Chromebooks, Windows, and Macs work for all classes besides Roblox, which can only run on Windows or Macs.

    We encourage you to have two devices: one for the Zoom class and the other for coding.

  • We offer after school pickup from certain local schools surrounding our Brooklyn locations.

    Park Slope: PS 321, 10, and 107

    Cobble Hill: PS 261, 29, 58, 38, and 32

    Pickup is available for 3:30 classes, and the cost is $95 for the whole semester.

    We can pick up from a maximum of 3 schools per day, so pick up may not be available every day for each school. Please email us to inquire about this option.
